Terms of Service

Last updated: 18 November 2025

These Terms of Service ("Terms") explain how you can use Bilig ("Bilig", "we", "us" or "our"). Bilig is currently operated by individual founders and is not yet an incorporated legal entity. By using Bilig, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use Bilig.

1. What Bilig Is

Bilig is an online service that helps you:

  • Create a dedicated inbox for newsletters using unique email addresses
  • Collect, organise and read newsletters in one place
  • See basic statistics about your reading behaviour (time spent, completion, categories, etc.)
  • Discover and follow different publications and authors

Bilig does not create, own, or control the newsletters themselves. Those newsletters are produced and owned by third-party publishers, writers, or organisations.

2. Who May Use Bilig

You may use Bilig only if:

  • You are legally allowed to enter into a contract where you live, and
  • You are at least 18 years old.

By using Bilig, you confirm that this is true. You are responsible for making sure that using Bilig complies with the laws in your country.

3. Your Bilig Account

To use Bilig, you may need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and up-to-date information
  • Keep your login credentials secret
  • Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account

If you think someone else has accessed your account, you should change your password and notify us at support@thebilig.com.

4. Unique Email Addresses & Newsletter Subscriptions

When you subscribe to a newsletter through Bilig, we may generate a unique email address for you. You then use that email on the newsletter's website, and the newsletter is delivered to your Bilig inbox.

In the future, we may introduce optional partnerships or integrations with certain newsletter publishers. Where these partnerships exist, you may be able to subscribe to participating newsletters directly through Bilig. These integrations will only be available for publishers who have expressly agreed to work with us.

You agree that:

  • You are the one subscribing to newsletters.
  • You must follow the terms and privacy policies of each newsletter publisher.
  • You are responsible for unsubscribing from any newsletter you no longer wish to receive.

Bilig only provides the technical infrastructure to receive and display emails on your behalf. We are not responsible for: The content of newsletters, the frequency of emails from publishers, any changes or cancellations made by those publishers. If a publisher stops sending emails, or changes their terms, that is between you and the publisher.

5. Plans, Payments & Third-Party Providers

Bilig may offer:

  • A free plan with limited features
  • Paid plans with additional features (e.g., more storage, AI-powered features, advanced analytics, badges, etc.)

If you choose a paid plan:

  • Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers.
  • By paying, you also agree to the terms and policies of those payment providers.

Prices, features, and billing intervals will be shown at the time of subscription.

5.1 Billing & Renewals

Paid plans usually renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel future renewals through your account settings or as described on the pricing page. If you cancel, you will normally retain access until the end of the current billing period.

5.2 Refunds

We follow a 14-day refund policy for purchases made through Bilig using third-party payment providers. If you cancel your paid subscription within 14 days of the original purchase, this does not automatically result in a refund. To receive a refund, you must submit a separate refund request through the relevant third-party payment provider’s refund process or any refund tools made available to you at the time of purchase. If a refund is approved within the 14-day period, your paid subscription will end immediately and you will lose access to all Pro features at that time. If you cancel after the 14-day period has ended, you will not be eligible for a refund. However, you will retain access to your paid plan until the end of your current billing cycle, after which your account will automatically downgrade to the free plan. Refund requests submitted outside the 14-day refund window may be declined unless required by applicable law.

5.3 Free Trial

We may offer a 7-day free trial of Pro features for new or existing users from time to time. After the trial ends, your account will automatically return to the free plan and Pro-only features will no longer be available unless you choose to upgrade. You will not be charged automatically, and you'll be billed unless you actively purchase a paid plan.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Bilig to:

  • Break any laws or regulations
  • Harass, threaten, or harm others
  • Infringe the rights of others (including intellectual property rights and privacy rights)
  • Try to gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts, or data
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of Bilig
